If the number of competition entries does not exactly equal
64, 32, 16 or 8 etc, a simple formula can be applied to produce
a workable draw with byes e.g. If there are 47 entries, this number
is subtracted from the number from the sequence of multiples of
2 above, which is larger than the number of entries ( - in this
example 64 to give the number of byes). Therefore 64-47 = 17 byes
with the remaining 30 competitors producing 15 matches, whose winners
will join the 15 byes to complete 32 players in the next round.
